Josephine is a young lady who hails from a district in central Uganda. She recently graduated with a certificate in Nursing and Midwifery. Josephine was sponsored by HFLK through the two and half years course. Her choice of course was inspired by her own health condition (she suffers from sickle cell anemia).

Musa (name changed) is 12 years old and is in p.4 class. He excelled in the last term (third term 2023) exams with good marks and was promoted to primary four. Musa has a teachable heart and he’s devoted to his studies. Despite the challenges faced in life, Musa has remained focused on his studies for he believes that through the education he’s acquiring now that’s how he will make it in life.

Josephine has had sickle cell disease since childhood, and so struggles with occasional pain and is vulnerable to infections. Due to the low family income, her mother managed to pay for her school fees up to lower secondary level. Josephine dropped out of school after completing senior four.

With her exceptional skills attained in the training, Hope For Life Katanga provided Serenah with a new sewing machine with the purpose of empowering her to start self-employment. She currently designs and makes clothes for different clients, which enables her to earn more and enhance her skills as a fashion designer.
