Nyapendi Graduating with a Bachelors Degree
Embracing the opportunity of improving her career in 2021, Nyapendi chose secretarial and administrative studies when she got sponsorship for vocational training. Every day, she commuted from Katanga with a resolve to change her life that set her apart. Her commitment bore fruit when she graduated top of her class with a first-class diploma in secretarial studies. Her excellence earned her both a certificate of merit and a half-bursary to pursue a degree, an opportunity she seized with gratitude and vigor. Supported by HFLK, she joined YMCA Comprehensive Institute, where she continued to excel despite mounting family responsibilities.
This February, Nyapendi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in secretarial and administrative studies and has already secured employment as a secretary at a reputable law firm a milestone that transformed not only her life but also that of her mother, who had recently suffered a stroke. With her new income, Nyapendi is assured of proper medical care for her mother and manages household expenses independently.
Today, Nyapendi stands as a living proof that determination and good interventions like those offered by Hope for Life Katanga can crush cycles of poverty. From the crowded lanes of Katanga to the professional corridors of law firms. She has redefined what is possible for herself and others like her. Success is not reserved for the privileged but belongs to those who persevere against all odds. We are dedicated to walking side by side with these young ladies who sought to change their futures.
