The aim of this programme is to improve the health of those living in Uganda, through education, prevention and, where necessary, treatment. We recognise that although education and livelihoods are very important for developing live circumstances, the state of an individual's health can prevent that development.
The main aspect of the health programme currently consists of Secunda, an experienced, registered nurse, coming in once a week, to offer guidance, support and a small amount of treatment. The guidance is based on assessing symptoms an individual is expressing and either referring them onto a clinic or hospital, or prescribing appropriate actions to be taken to improve their condition. Some health conditions, as well as treatment need additional emotional support, which we offer through counselling, run by Daisy, who, as well as our Education Officer, is a trained counsellor.
